I started coming to Tutoring Club last summer a few months after I dropped out of high school, at 17 years old. When we had the first meeting to discuss payments and such, I felt defeated because my dad and I are low-income and we couldn't afford it, we were able to make a deal with Ryan about payment, and let me tell you, when the California Education System leaves you behind, you feel like a failure and that you're never going to get anywhere in life because you weren't able to keep up with the fast-paced class curriculum. I had the skill level of a 1st grader in math and I thought I could never learn how to do it and be able to pursue college but they changed that. I started at a 1st grade math level and with 6 months of vigorous practice, I was able to start the pre-algebra program. If it wasn't for my tutors and friends I honestly don't know where I would be in life right now and I'm very happy that I was able to afford to go here and that I'm on my way to getting my GED in confidence!!
Honestly-- the money that you spend now in the long run is worth it if means being able to go to college and having a future for myself!
